Kohanna is an Americana artist whose music blends elements of folk, country, and soul, creating a sound that's both timeless and contemporary. Her storytelling is deeply personal, drawing from her roots in Northern Virginia and Baltimore, and resonates with listeners across generations.
Her discography includes the full-length album Hometown (2021), the EP For the Wildflowers (2020), and several singles such as “What I Would Give” (2025), "Sweet Wine" (2023), "Dancing With June" (2022), and "Moonlight" (2021). Her music has been featured on Kinda Vague Radio 92.9 FM and praised by A&R Factory for her “illuminatingly genuine” voice. Spinning Platters highlighted her early work, drawing comparisons to the debut energy of Lorde.
Kohanna’s live performances are known for their authenticity and emotional depth. She has graced stages across the U.S., from hometown venues like NOVA Live in Manassas, VA to full-band shows at The Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO and infamous writer’s rounds such as The Local’s Music Row Freakshow in Nashville, TN. Her ability to connect with audiences makes each performance a shared experience. She began performing live at the age of 14, now with over 8 years of experience, her very first gig at the historic Cat’s Eye Pub in the Fells Point neighborhood of Baltimore.
After studying songwriting in Nashville, she moved to Colorado to complete a degree in marketing, aiming to understand the business side of her art. Over the past three years, she has built a regional following in Colorado and played the East Coast during summers.
In August 2025, Kohanna plans to relocate to Austin, Texas, to pursue her music career full-time. She is currently writing her third album, with recording sessions slated to begin in the fall of 2025.

“The opening notes- what I think is an African thumb piano- kept bringing me back. This electro-folk single reminds me of the debuts from Lorde and Sylvan Esso, putting her in great company. “

“Her illuminatingly genuine vocal capabilities rise up so wonderfully while you close your tired eyes and listen intently to the message this determined young woman is projecting.”
